Manchester’s Whitworth, part of The University of Manchester, has ‘wowed’ the architectural world with its new extension and renovation. The imposing north facade features an intricate brickwork pattern that draws inspiration from fabrics within the gallery’s textile collection. This is made from a variety of handmade ‘special’ bricks, which link together to give the impression of interwoven textile threads and torn fabric, which has been stitched back together.

Newport Street Gallery is based around a conversation of three terraced late-Victorian buildings, flanked at by new buildings to stretch along the entire street. Caruso St John Architects worked with Nortchot to develop two bespoke blends, Newport Dark and Newport Light. The project was the RIBA Sterling Prize 2016 winner, while Nortchot's contribution was recognised with the Brick Awards 2016 Supreme Winner award.

55 St James Street lies at the heart of the St James Conservation Area fronting the major thoroughfare of St James Street to one side and overlooking The Ritz to the other. EPR Architects worked closely with Northcot Brick, selecting a blend of three different handmade bricks to give a unique colour mix with subtle changes in texture that complements the character of buildings in the area.

Originally built for healthcare provider Simplyhealth and now owned by AXA, this state-of-the-art brick building is situated on the Whiteladies Road conservation area in Clifton, Bristol. With several listed structures and buildings of architectural merit nearby, the purpose-built office block needed to be of an extremely high design quality. Blending the modern with traditional references, it utilises Northcot's Lyneham Red bricks, Plumstead Orange arches and mullions with stone keystones.
